About CrossPointe Christian Church

CrossPointe Christian Church has been serving the community in and around Porter County for over 60 years. The church began in 1957 and relocated to its current facilities in 2013. The new location offers even greater opportunities for CrossPointe to focus on reaching people for Christ. The mission is to help people discover, develop, and then demonstrate a relationship with Jesus Christ. CrossPointe works to accomplish this mission through community events, service to those in need, and a newly increased financial support for missions work.

Opportunities for positive change has been a standard in recent years. Since 2013, CrossPointe has completed a building project upgrade to expand the Children’s Wing. The church has also completed a capital campaign to help fund future ministry growth. We have ample room for expansion. The church currently has two full-time staff and five part-time staff. These individuals are truly gifted in their service to God’s Kingdom and thoroughly excited about reaching the surrounding community for Christ.

Sunday morning attendance averaged 473 in 2019 (pre-COVID). This year CrossPointe has been averaging 250 in person with a further 700 reached through online views. CrossPointe has recognized the opportunity for reaching people online and has been blessed with the resources to accomplish the mission digitally. Continued growth on a digital platform coupled with the residential growth in Porter County means that CrossPointe is poised to reach people in a significant way for God’s Kingdom.

About Our Community

Valparaiso, IN is located just 15 miles south of Lake Michigan and is a growing community in Northwest Indiana. Easy access to major interstates and highways means you can easily travel to Chicago or Indianapolis while reaping the benefits of experiencing closer communities such as Valparaiso or Chesterton. You are never far from dining or shopping options ranging from fast food to fine dining. Downtown Valparaiso boasts some of the region’s favorite restaurants and the surrounding area offers national brands. Construction on a new Chick-fil-A has many excited as well!

There are plenty of options for outdoor and family experiences in the area. Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore boasts 15 miles of beautiful lakeshore including 15000 acres of parks and over 50 miles of trails. In addition, there are more than 15 parks in the Valparaiso area covering more than 650 acres. These parks include access to golf courses, lakes for fishing, an ice-skating rink in the winter, and 20 miles of pathways for hiking, walking, and biking. Over 14 playgrounds for children confirms that the community enjoys being outside and enjoying the natural landscape.

Valparaiso serves as the home for Valparaiso University and an Ivy Tech campus. Valparaiso University has been recognized as one of the Top 10 Regional campuses in the Midwest. Area schools are consistently ranked among the best in the state. Couple this with the fact that Valparaiso ranks as the 11th safest city in Indiana and it is no wonder that the population grew by 4,000 in the last ten years and is expected to expand even further with 17 new subdivisions under construction. Porter County as a whole is experiencing growth while still maintaining a true sense of community.
